Our team of specialists was present with a dedicated booth at Veronafiere, May 03 to 07, 2023.
Research and innovation for a safer and environmentally sustainable road network. This was the focus of the present edition of ASPHALTICA, held in conjunction with the Samoter fair. In five days, our technicians had the opportunity to present LOD services to participants interested in matters related to odorigenic emissions.
Twenty years after its inception, ASPHALTICA has become a successful event involving companies, public administrations and institutions.
Theevent was promoted by SITEB-ItalianRoads and Bitumen Association and Veronafiere,and more than 70 exhibitors includingindustry players were present. The event also dedicated, a large outdoor areato demonstrations on products and technologies increasingly dedicated to sustainability and road safety.
Topics discussed at ASPHALTICA 2023
The intention was to establish an exhibition hub dedicated to the field of construction and road building related to the world of bitumen, a market worth more than 18 billion euros in Italy.ASPHALTICA proposed several innovations in the areas of experimentation, regulation and research. Some of the topics covered during the event were the following:
1. "Giving substance" to investments in securing Italy's road heritage.
2. Optimizing resources of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan - NRRP for the design of durable and environmentally and economically sustainable roads.
3. Generate smart roads for future mobility, including concepts of circulareconomy.
LOD during the expo with the analysis of odors produced by bitumen production
Our experts had the opportunity to explain to our booth visitors our odor analysis services, specifically, odor emissions produced during the processing of bituminous material.
Analyses performed at the Electronic Nose were further investigated. This was done in order to qualitatively and quantitatively characterize the odor emitted according to the different types of processes used and the variation of some important physical parameters (e.g., temperature).
Our participation at SITEB conferences at ASPHALTICA
As per tradition, ASPHALTICA promoted within the event, several moments dedicated to debate, with workshops, seminars and high-level conferences. SITEB - Italian Roads and Bitumen, organized a series of in-depth events, led by the journalist Luca Telese and with the participation of a shortlist of specialists in the field of odor emissions.
Specifically, LOD took part to the technical-scientific event entitled "Odorigenic Emissions in the Production of Asphalt Mixes." As a speaker, our technical director, Silvia Rivilli, presented her report, "Methodological approaches for quantifying odor impact."
The various events stimulated the interest and appreciation of the many people attending the fair.
